Salam to all. I have been a muslim since 2007. I found a very nice guy and he proposed marriage for 23 July 2010. I have never attended a nikah nor a nikah dinner before. I have googled what happens during akad nikah. However, may I know the traditions for the feast that follows after? Can friends offer songs and dances? Is there a throwing of the bridal bouquet? Cutting of the cake? Releasing of doves? Please help! I am Filipino muslim and my husband to be is Indian Muslim. We are based in singapore as citizen and PR.

Should one be a Ustaz before he can convey a message. Recently a convert brother was sharing his trials and tribulations before before being asked to refrain from such activities. His reason was that he does not really understand the religion well enough to actually share such experiences and linking them to Islam. Is this what a Muslim should do to a Convert ?
