What business should I venture in?

I am currently doing some research on the kind of business that I should venture in or setup. At the moment now, I am just running a simple website selling accessories online. But I want something more than that.

My dream was to always run a boutique of my own, however, it seems that there are already so many boutiques in Singapore and I do not want to end up with the high rental cost only.

So need advice from anyone out there or anyone who has experience opening a boutique or shop to share your piece of mind.

And what kind of business do you think you would like to see more?

Thks!

How about on-line boutique then... first of its kind....Whatever you chosse to do, have passion in it and be honest and truthful to yourself. If you are selling accessories, I have many watches that I want to sell off. if you would like to help & make some money in the process, I would be happy to talk to you separately. I am leaving for holiday today & will be back only on 13th December. We can ctach up if you are keen. Call me hp: 97695158.

What is it that interest you most? i used to have all these dreams but cant carry it out cos im a teacher. civil servant and all. so its very difficult for me to start a business especially under my name.

i did some research on my own too..went around to look for goods and all.

u should ask yourself what is it that you really like, then u will enjoy working. boutique is ok but yeah there might be lots competition too.

i initially wanted to have wedding deco and making all those gubahan or gifts. there is this shop in malaysia that sell super cheap stuff. ready made and even materials. very cheap. i went around singapore and surveyed the cost price and wow, they are really making money. for example, 30 packets of potpourri here cos almost 30bucks... but 100 packets there is like 30 ringgit. and if u want to have a boutique, u can still get cloth there...
if u havent decide on anythg, why dont try a little of each and form there you can test the market? like continue the online thing and sell different things then see which is in demand.

My sis-in-law used to have a shop at Arab street selling cloth. Rent was too high so she closed down and she still has all those cloth at her house. if u are interested in the boutique thing and u are looking for cloth i can try to help.

To Mehboob:

Thank you so much for your suggestion. Guess, no harm trying an online boutique first rite rather then having to end up paying the high rental cost.

To Jannah14 :

Thank you for you suggestion too. Actually, I had this dream for quite a long time too. And quite similarly, when I was employed as civil servant, this cant be done. But now since i have resigned to take care of my kids, I thought of doing something on my own.

I like the idea of selling different things to see the demand, but I am afraid to be having so much stock. Unless, I can get those suppliers on consignment basis.

To both Mehboob & Jannah 14:

Perhaps, both of you may want to have a look at my website http://thegreenrose.multiply.c...

and pls e-mail me at thegreenrose@gmail.com with regards to the watches for Mehboob and the cloth for Jannah14.

Thks

To rest, please if you have any advice or suggestion, i would love to hear them. Would really appreciate it.

Thank you.
