Are there any places in Singapore where I can find wifi hotpots ? Are they Free?
Can I easily plug in my laptop to a power socket, while i browse the internet at these wifi hotspots?
If not, where can you recomend me a place that i can do so without the wifi hotspot?
Thanks in advance.
wifi with power socket: macdonalds, national library. starbucks. coffee bean.
power socket without wifi: any library nearest to you is the best.
wifi without power socket: raffles city, marina square, almost all shopping centres in town are hot spot areas, sbs digital bus (the new bus where the seats are higher than usual at the back)
- find wifi name, wireless@sg
- when you open your browser, there will be a log in page for you to select your service provider
- icellwireless is free. they have other service providers such as m1, starhub or singtel.
- they are free under icellwireless. but you have to sign up in order to log in to wireless@sg.
- you can purchase internet singtel prepaid card to access under singtel or if you got any paid broadband service provider account, you can use to log in (i think you need to activate certain account to access to some privileges).
I hope this helps.

Thanks bro,
Very useful info.
What about non city areas, for example Bedok maket, tampines interchange, jurong, little india, geylang etc..?
Do i have to find a starbuck or cofeebean to surf the internet with power socket too?
Power sockets are hard to find. My advise is to get a spare adapter.
In the town areas such as Tampines and Jurong and so on. I suggest you find those large malls, they usually have wireless hotspots around.
Starbucks, Coffee Bean and Mc Donalds are all over Singapore.
Even Community Centers and Libraries have it.
