Q. Reverting back to original religion after embracing Islam?

I am 22 this year. I converted to muslim when I was 5 years old. My parents convert me and my brother to Islam.(originally chinese).

The question is may I convert back to my original religion (which is chinese)? I have no idea why my parents wanted to convert. We converted in Brunei.

I was so young and I don't even know or remember the process. Even now, I did not practice anything about Islam.

Please advice

Assalam Alaikum,

You know? The fact that you are asking this question, you are already thinking about your own life~ Which is a good start! =)

I'm not giving advices but just would like to give you my thoughts...

Now, let me give you an analogy for your situation... Of course this analogy is not the best but it gives you an idea of your thinking...

Imagine, you are just like a caveman holding on to a iphone... Just because you dont know the function of the iphone, just because you don't know what it is about, you decided to throw it away... But iphone is soOoo beneficial to you, just that you don't realise it... U get the idea?

There are soOoo many people, like me, struggling to make people accept us as Muslim...

Why are you thinking of not being a muslim?

I am a chinese and a muslim... Being chinese is my race... Being muslim is a choice because it is the only religion in the world which provide the full guidance for everything in daily life...

You have other religion in mind, which is better than Islam? hmMmmm... Have you started learning about Islam before thinking of leaving it?

If you are sincerely looking for the truth, be open-minded and find out about other religions... It's every muslim's responsibility to search for knowledge...

Pray for guidance... One day, you'll be guided on the right path, insha'Allah~

Salam, I'm Chinese in race and I'm Chinese Muslim. How to revert to Chinese if I'm already a Chinese?? :P

Then u can find out more about Islam. Islam is the religion for every mankind. Dont ever say you don't know just because you haven't done anything to learn about it.

dear brother, Salam

I want to tell you that being Muslim, doesn't mean you are not Chinese, Islam is a religion for all and they all can maintain there own races and ethics but under one God and His prophets, LAST being Muhammad (saw).

Islam is actually the final and complete revelation to mankind by God, which was sent earlier to many others, like Jesus, Moses, David (pbut) and many others, but earlier revelations were incomplete and unprotected from amendments and were targeted only to a single community, but Islam was completion of those earlier revelations and is protected from any kind of amendments inoriginal text by any human, Allah himself protects His Quran.

Islam is the finest way of living, a full description of history and future of earth, the biggest prove of Islam are the things told by Prohet about the future to come and they can be seen true now. You know, "plants have life" is a belief that modern science proved in 19 century but it was told by prophet in the 7th century.

I can put myself in front (with Allah's help) to prove each and every aspect of Islam in accordance with modern science.

Islam is the most logical and fastest growing religion in the world, with message of one God without any son, daughter, no form no trinity, he is almighty, all powerful, the creater and the sustainer of the entire universe and beyond.

Dear confuse,

Are you a Singaporean?

As mentioned by others, you can still be a chinese and practice islam at the same time. Chinese is a race and islam is a religion. So, you will just be a Chinese muslim.

However, if you want to leave Islam because Islamic practices conflict with your Chinese customs (or whatever other reasons you have), you can do so by the following steps:

1) Go to the subordinate courts (the one in cityhall near funan centre) and make a statutory declaration in front of a commissioner of oath that you no longer wish to be a muslim.

2) Go to MUIS and give them the statutory declaration and tell them that you no longer wish to be a muslim.

Quite a simple process.
