How do you find the Islamic culture and practice by the Muslims today being promoted around the Muslims today? Also What are the practices observed by the Muslims today?
Examples in this country would the marhaban (hymns and praises of Prophet Muhammad pbuh) after the Muslim child is born and berzanji (Prophet's life in Arabic prose). How are the new generation coping with the current trend and their personal views on this culture. Whether it is personal opinion, critic or information on the practice, your opinion is appreciated :)
As I reflected on this question myself, I find the practices somewhat contended between obligation and neccessity. While the marhaban here symbolizes the malay muslim culture, it's also signifies some thoughts on the idea of the ritual neccesary for muslims to reflect to pure islamic vales and beliefs.
I guess then, it's the hope of the future generation that will nuture the upbringing of the islamic culture to their children. I could hardly "swim my head" for a suitable answer, but for now, I could safely assume, that marhaban is more a spiritual love for a malay muslim in their practise as a muslim identity among the Singaporean way of life.
