how do i do a press release?
and what is a press release?
is it only for the press who can do it?
and i would like to call up the newspaper in Singapore and let them know what NB lounge is planing to do and our vision.

a press release is a statement, or a response from a company, institution, organisation, etc, regarding a certain issue, event, or a situation directly effecting that organisation.
it usually spans for 1 page, where the spokespeople, or heads of the company comment on this issue.
it forms a part of the PR (public relations) sector of your company, as a means to tell the media and the wider community what this organisation thinks of this particular issue.
so therefore it's actually directed at the press/media, and the general public.
there's a certain structure i guess... more written in the form of a news story.
ummm... if you plan on expanding your organisation, in the current day 'n' age... its best to form a plan on how you talk to the media.
coz as we've seen time and time again... a lot of things can get misconstrued, which can be to the detriment of your company's image.
so yeh first and foremost, develop a plan before you just ring up a newspaper.
if need be, construct a PR sector of your organisation that deals specifically with this.

We'll like to get to know more people who are interested in what we are aiming to do, especially organisation, businesses and individuals who makes up a very important structure in the community to look into our website and to discover the potential in using such an influential media.
We want to hear form people about what they think about this website and how we can improve it to meet the needs of Muslims.

as much as I'd love to write one for you, i just think that you know more about NB Lounge than I do, going beyond the description that you gave above... do you get me?
so like honestly... do some research as to how to get the PR aspect of your company off the ground... and just what KIND of PR you want to implement.
sorry i know it sounds kind of long winded, but not every PR plan, is applicable for every company, so like maybe it's better for you guys to try and understand it first, as opposed to getting someone to do it...
once you get it, it wont take long at all.
also, one tip, think carefully of what newpaper/media outlet you want to send your press release to.
understand the editorial policy of this paper, and the 'types' of stories they publishe.
what agenda they have, political orientation etc etc
are they what YOU'RE looking for?
also you have to remember if you're what THEY are looking for.
will they consider the launch of NB Lounge as newsworthy? - this is really important because they might be like ....
"eh...who cares"
you've got to want them to take notice... if you get what i mean...
what angle will you choose to present this to them?
how significant will this be to Sg lifestyle and culture?

im sure this would be a helpful tip for others who are thinking abt doing a press release for whatever they might be planing to do.
Just sent the media release and make sure that the information is a power one.
