Do not listen to ordinary songs and music... Malay songs are about love between man and woman and contain the sweet voices of women (which are not your mahram) which raises the desire. That is haram....
I know it is not easy to leave music but Have taqwa. Do what is commanded and leave what is prohibited. Make a sacrifice in the path of taqwa....

i've already selected an answer to this Q. You ned to read the question carefully before answering.
plus i don;t need to hear your take on what YOU think Music is for you. "haram". My question didn't ask for people's opinion if music is Haram or Halal.
I'm sure the 'sweet voices of women' in music certainly raise your desire..doesn't do it for me. Perhaps that is why these kinda music is haram FOR YOU. :)
