Whats the latest fashion statement in Muslim community?
Those cute babydoll dresses (ok obviously i'm talking in terms of for the girls). Many muslim girls like the way those clothes look neither too childish nor too 'serious', as they're available in various designs. Also suitable for muslimahs who're particular about 'covering up', cos these dresses are available in shortsleeves and longsleeves AND a length which can cover the buttocks.
It may be a little bit irrevant but I am intertested in how Muslimah consider about "Islamic Fashion".
There was article titled "Mecca Stars" in Marie Claire magazine which showed number of photos of models dressing black veils and gorgeous sun-glasses. It was impressive in a sense that all the clothes appeared to be "Shariah compliant" and still very sylish. It was also very impressive in a sense that the dress and accesories did not attach to any particular cultures or traditions.
Singapore, malaysia and Indonesia have good potential to lead this particular segment of fashion indutry as I see there is a good balance of secularism and Islam in malay-indonesia pop-culture of present time.
Is there any demand, interest, pro and con, etc with regard to this topic?
black veils? you mean in the black abayas? or western clothes, like pants, shirts and skirts with the hijab and sunnies. ( coz some people call hijab as veils, but they are 2 different things, so need clarification there)
I'm not sure the exact question..but i hope i'm giving something to your query.
In my opinion, any clothing you wear these days belongs to a certain culture so to speak.
Western (shirt, pants, skirts), Indian, Malay or Indonesian, Serbian, Russian, Chinese, Arab..etc
attaching a pic of that impressive fashion wear would be helpful for everyone to visualize it.
Also..why does it have to be a Malay-Indonesia culture??
What about other Muslim communities present? Like American muslims, French muslims, Chinese muslims, Arab muslims, Indian muslims etc?
As for me...i make my own fashion. Make sure everything is covered up but i wear western clothes which i can get easily anywhere. There's nothing worng with wearing any kinda clothes as long as it's shariah complient.
there's this company , dima g
http://dima-g.com.au/index.php...
Which provides the 'extension' you need to wear all your short sleeves favorite clothing.
Brother and sisters, to avoid a missunderstanding, what I meant by "malay-indonesia pop-culture of present time" was not malay culture such as Zappin and Kebaya but was pop-culture of present time which does not necessarily attached to any traditional culture.
