Muslimah's Hair Saloon

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone of you can tell me if there is any Muslimah's Hair Saloon in the Northern area of Singapore?

Or anyone who has a contact number of a hairdresser who does house to house service?

Thank you

Regards,

That's funny..just yesterday I had this idea about setting up Muslimah Saloons in every part of Singapore west, east etc...Just a vague idea I had..where Muslimah can have a hair cut and wear their tudung before steping out of the saloon..and for housewives there's a play room for their children to play while their mothers have a haircut.
But I am still young, unexperienced and no nothing about business and most importantly no money..haha...
But anything is possible ..maybe one day I can turn this idea into a reality...one thing for sure I need a business partner, I can't possibly do it alone..anyone want to be my biz partner?

To Jannah14 :

Thank you for your reply. That is the problem I faced, I cant seem to locate any Muslimah Hair saloon in the northern part. Will be great if you have the contact number of anyone who does provide hairdressing house to house.

To Intuitive :
Wow, I must say that is a great idea. If you do open up such a business, I will definitely be your regular customer. Just imagine I have 3 kids on the move and to bring them all to a hair saloon with no toys, i think i would rather not have my hair cut hehheh

Well, I have to say that you are never too young to dream. Hey, i dont mind being your biz partner :).

That sound fun!
Its never too early to start your own business. and in this line, im sure its possible and i believe can work out. u just need money and a hairdresser of course,

I have a suggestion though, if you are really interested right, you can approach pertapis, jamiyah or some organisation to "hire" hairdressers. They may not be so professional but if they have the talent you might be giving them a big opportunity to work. Thats for helping the Muslim community here..and at the same time you can actually propose to MUIS or somewhere to help you with the funding.

I've organised lots of charity work which is self initiated, although i dont get paid, i enjoyed it. You just need the patience and determination to start it. There will be challenges but if you are really passionate about it, trust me, it will work.

So think about it...you already have someone interested to be a partner, and you have my fullest support and help too...if u are really serious i mean...

All the best then..

For general info :

I have been to an-nisaa. Its next to Indulgence bakery next to Sultan mosque. It faces Zamzam and victory restaurant. Its a really simple shop. Cost me $20 for a wash and cut.

Another one I have visited is Jannah hair. Its along Haig Road. Yes its right beside Teh Tarik Coffeeshop.

Mendaki has got a programme Job Plus Centre of SENSE which provides free job matching service to specific target group specifically for 1)single mothers & youths in single-mother families 2)jobseekers who have been unemployed 6 months and more 3)jobseekers who have a household income of less than $1500.
SENSE currently has 5 entreprises namely Suri Stitch (sewing shop), Suri Salon, Suri Spa (massage service) and Ink Refilling Service and the Junior Network, a childcare centre for the young. These jobs are created to help beneficiaries earn income on a flexi hour basis.

Maybe you can try contacting them.
Try emailing to cru@mendaki.org.sg

The following are some details I got from them:
The Suri office is located at 20 Jo Chiat Road #02-05 (right above Hj Maimunnah restaurant).
Suri salon: those ladies who have been trained by Pivot Point would be stationed there to service you and your freinds. Above the salon,is where the Suri stitch is. You may send your cloth here to make baju kurung. Or else the ladies there are our seamstress and seamstress-to-be.

The spa is also in operation. You need to make appointment so as to have a massage therapist either stationed there or to your place.
