I often see Singapore men wearing T-shirts and faded jeans when attending formal functions, while the ladies are often well dressed, in their colorful kebayas or long dress.
Sometimes they appeared so mismatched.
Personally I think Singapore men are sloppy dresser. Do you agree ?

Hrmm... i think sometimes i see those but generally i think they are decently dressed probably guys between their teens to 50s.
Perhaps those awful ones are in the later stages of life?
I do think that their style of dressing can be improve. I live in Australia and i just love the fashion here for both men and women.
Salaam,
I wonder how those guys would respond if they are reading these post ha ha..For me, as a guy, I was "trained"
by my dad how to appropriately dress, so yeah, I guess t-shirt and jeans is a bit of the understatement.
But then be careful when saying the term "well-dressed" in anything. Islamic dress code is not something all Islamic scholars have the diverse opinion for, so do be careful. At least, all are in opinion that we Muslims should dressed neatly with regards to modesty and formality, not fashionably.
actually singaporeans are ranked among the worst dressed people in recent survey...cant remember which one. haha.
I do agreed..in a way, guys. :P
my habibi wardrobe only black, green and blue. nothing else. haha. but at least he wear pants instead of jeans.
i dont like men in jeans. haha.
haha....sometimes....yes they do... depends... nowadays more guys who are not gays also dress very metrosexually... they take care of their appearance more them girls sometimes... so it happens in all countries...

I think neatness, modesty can go hand in hand with fashion.
What has Islam got against fashion ?
i think especially after marriage, guys usually take things for granted, they tend to "dress down". Look around those without girlfriends or wives, these guys tend to pay extra care to their dressing.
well, sometimes, girlfriends or wives can voice out and suggest what to wear and how to match.
we muslims can be also fashionable wah.
the guys couldnt possibly wear a turban and jibab to work. haha.
as long as it looks neat and tidy, pls no slippers when going more than 1km.
Our prophets companions always very neat and tidy, its also a form of worship as Allah loves beauty of his creatures.
Wearing nice clothings also to enjoy allah's bounties. :)
it is all in individual decisons..
Islam requires us to be neat at all times... and clean... to perform Salat..
Muslim women has to dress well for their husband...
Singapore men in general being sloppy dressers? its subjective... some do..... some dont...
Trust me... other countries like US and Europe...the men goes out... and they dont bathe also lol... they just dump perfume on their head and never shave.... and last night's dinner stains on their shirts..Ive seen it...
So if you think about religion wise... then yes...it is advisable to groom yourself...and be neat when you are facing Allah or not...
but my ultimate answer to AZ question...is NOT all singapore men are sloppy basically.......
haha. i think its true. i rarely saw guys wearing an appropriate dress to functions like weddings etc. maybe for some, they're being too casual as they might think that wearing a formal one is only suitable for festive celebrations.
its up to the person itself i guess. if they're comfortable in that way, then i guess its up to them. its rather useless forcing them to wear a formal one if he doesnt feel comfortable with it.
yeah true that not all guys are sloppy dresser. they just wanna be simple..:)
Guilty of that..hahahhaa..
I think what matters is we are comfortable with it and it covers the aurah.
Of course from time to time we have to be appropriate especially going for functions.
Other times my culture is T-shirt and Jeans...
