Q. MUIS approve Halal Restraunts in Singapore Hotel which serves alcohol ?

This is bad if its true. U must inform MUIS ABOUT THIS. otherwise it will cause misunderstanding among muslims and misconceptions among the non muslims.

yup... most hotel serve alcohols to cater to tourists or businessman.

That is bad if MUIS is giving out HALAL cert.

It is not right in Islam to make asumption without any proof. As part of a society we each need to play our part in helping each other out and to correct each other when we see something wrong.

@appolle...you have the power to make this right for every Muslims in singapore. At least tell us which hotel it is. :)

If these type of things is true, we need to inform the appropriate authorities.

Imagine all the Muslims who have no idea and are eating there. :S

Yes i am muslim.
Orite, as some of u know im in this F&B line.
So i thought of changing my job then i called them to re-confirm. Yes dey said their HALAL but wen i ask them if they still serve alcohol? YES a lady on e phone replied me. Its @ HYATT hotel Straits Kitchen.
So i never go ani more dtails on tis..
Im sori.

Large hotels may have more than one restaurants.
It is possible only one is halal, while the alcohol comes from another place.
They have to serve both muslims and non-muslims guests.
It is good that they serve HALAL food within their premises, for the convenience of muslim guests.
We have to be practical, living in multi-religious society.

MY hubby mentioned about hyatt.. i know, z that we are living a mult-racial society.

As long as they sell alcohol in the SAME PLACE they serve alcohol. im fine with it.

IF THEY ARE SELLING ALCOHOL IN THE SAME PLACE AS THEY SERVE the halal food then it is definitely worth our concern.

Regarding working in places selling non-halal food, maybe we can draw comparison with NTUC Fairprice.

They are selling Pork, Alcohol and other non-halal items, yet many Muslims work there. So far I have not heard anyone ruling it as haram.

However we should draw the line when it comes to actually serving the alcohol.

ah ok. do the muslims know its haram to work at these places? but if there is no choice but to work in these places, we can only seek for Allah's forgiveness. :)

Since we are not living in a islamic country, we are the minority which also is our duty to think for the others.

unless we really cant find a job, but to work in these places, then i guess its up to allah to say ok. we cant say much here.

as muslims, we should have better work ethics.

Even we are working in haram places but we upkeep the muslim image, u never know what other blessings Allah may shower upon u.

salam i work in orchard rd and i ve seen indonesians wearing scarfs ,i believe eating foods that are non halal and there are many of them and ive heard that for them to eat as long there is no pork they still can consume ,its the ideology thats making them do this i believe or is it the ignorance .my friend once advice one of them and was rebutted so how do we as spore muslim or muis advice them on what to eat or not ?

Assalamualaikum to all..i think i know where is the hotel that has been talked about here..during my visit there sometime back,i was also shocked that the restaurent actually served alcohol.to clear my doubt i did call MUIS and check,and this what they say to him..MUIS issu the Halal certificate to the restaurent based on the food only..means,if lets say there are for example 10 stalls serving different food there,they will be issued with individual certificate.because as what mentioned by them,they did not apply for the whole premises to be cover by Halal licensed.
