I am considering to become a vegetarian for health reasons. It's already mildly difficult to find an abundance of good halaal restaurants here in Singapore.. it's definitely going to be worse when I do become a vegetarian inshaallah.
I believe that places which are strictly against using any kinds of meat products should be alright as they are in existence due to religious reasons (think Hinduism).
What do you think?
Salaam muzlimah and welcome to the website.
Yes, I would agree that finding for a pure vegetarian restaurant would be difficult other than that found in little india.
Pure veg restaurant are halal to eat. What you can also do is to go to halal restaurant and only get something vegetarian.
I'm not a vegetarian so that is abt all the experience I have with finding for vegetarian food in Singapore.
Wsalaam.
I forgot to add that you should do a search on Google 'vegetarian restaurant Singapore'. There are quite a few results shown mainly Chinese, Indian and Thai food.
You should call them up and enquire if they are using any animal product and alcohol/ wine in their cooking, esp the oil, soups and broth.
hope that helps.
Salam Muzlimah,
From my personal work experience, i have known a few vegetarian restaurants with NO HALAL logo, please do not assume it to be safe for consumption as the cook themselves or staff eat non-veg and believe it or not, we dont really see them personally cooking in the kitchen, The wok and utensils might be shared with the customers too. Always, for safety, practise 'was-was' in our muslim life. Since i m working with the Malaysian Government, i have seen too many. Especially the 'No pork, No Lard', i did mention in my previous replies that one of my colleagues, by accident consume a slice of pork as the chef was from china and mistook her order for sliced cheese with sliced ham. it happened in a famous hotel in singapore. Please get the HALAL Directory from MUIS and refer from there. Thank you.
Salam,
Here is the link to the HALAL Directory as per my above-mentioned email.
Thank you.

Salaam,
Well, it comes to the level of strictness though. If you are at a place where there is almost no halal food, and you are really hungry and a vegetarian place is, then have faith in Allah s.w.t and eat there as long as to drive the hunger pang out.
Of coz, there are some who will help you with negative butting (but..but..but..but..) with excessive reasons and analogy ( I call these patient as dysfunctional Islamic behavioural syndrome) , well then eating is going to be a problem for him/her whether in the earth or at the moon. Muslims understand the level of faith and purity of importance, but if you put doubt on too much of everything is depressing. Too much doubt is also comes from devil's handiwork, so be careful to not be ignorant or overdoubt too much in Islam.
Islam puts us clearly what can be and what can't be eaten as revealed by God. Just check with the stall whether and how they serve non-halal food or use non-halal ingredients or cooking equipments. Have faith in Allah and on what these people have given you their information on what they sell as witness to Allah. Then eat, and eat only what you want to avoid yourself from hunger and harm, a ndnot towards transgression.
Most of the Indian outlets are safe to eat for Halal constrains, because Indian restaurants they never use anything related to pig and most of their meat suppliers are Muslim. If it is veg, then you can 100% rely on Indian Restaurants.
