i find 'quiet' people interesting. they tend to have more insight into things, generally speaking, than 'loud' people.
or is it just that i tune out when i encounter someone who talks a lot.

26/07/2007 12:17:30 PMdeep inside, there is a problem. The only way to get this out is to sit with the person and say nothing till she opens up first and then attack the root cause.

28/07/2007 2:00:54 AMYou can't say that they are weird. Maybe it is just the way they are brought up or maybe they just find it unnecessary to talk when there isn't a need to.
In turn, they might also think that the "loud people" are weird.

31/07/2007 2:07:29 AMIt's just a personality trait. Ask your psychologist friends. Some people talk more around people they're very familiar with e.g family, relatives, close friends. Some people are just genuinely quiet. While some others...well..they;re genuinely just stuck up.
But i dont really see the big deal fussing/complianing out people who dont talk to you unless you talk to them first. They could be quiet, shy or bad conversation-starter. Personally i wud either leave them alone, or if i'm in a friendly mood, would talk to them first. I dont see the point in 'penalising' a quiet person first without myself making any effort to start a conversation with her/him.

i can say i am the quiet type. i can survive without talking for the whole day (or two) no problem. haha =)
i dont talk when not necessary. maybe because i stutter a lot when i was a kid (its ok now). but this is not to say that all quiet people have some sort of speech problems when young. or troubled childhood etc...
i tend to be very quiet when with unfamiliar people. talk only when asked. smiles a lot. i can sit with a stranger for hours without talking and dont feel uncomfortable in that silence. therefore not a good a person to bring to a party. but i have no problems doing presentations or meetings. i become talkative with people that are very very close - which is a small bunch of peps.
dunno why. it just is. maybe because of my work too (i draw for a living - not much talking needed here).
oh.. i sometimes find loud people weird and irritating.
but the beauty is in our differences, no?

Why are some people sooooo quiet that they don't talk that much.
However when people decide that she/he doesn't want to talk, this person continues on keeping quiet but simply disagree.
He/She will never speak unless people ask for her why?
