I've edited you question text so that people can understand it better and they can easily search for this question.
When you post next time can you make sure that you do not use short forms like sms wording so that other people can understand and it's easier for them to answer your question?

unless they tell you that they are. Just make sure that we surround ourselves with honest and truthful friends.

8/10/2007 2:24:01 PMIt is in the small signs that you need to pick up from. Example the person stammering or just not seeming confident when saying it... at the end of the day we make our call based on our exposure to various people and ask Allah for help before you make the choice.

secondly. you can tell if they're lying. it's just a matter of putting the pieces together.
thirdly, you'd be hard pressed to find people that DON'T lie.
we all do it.
no use getting all self-righteous about it.
fourthly, it doesn't excuse it though, coz the intiial premise is that your friend wouldn't be telling you porkies.
isn't that right.
but even that is asking too much lately.
