Q. Breaking a Wedding Proposal

Salam,

I have a problem.. My partner and i have been going out for 3 yrs now.

He ask for my hand 3 times and keep breaking it..

He did it again last week. We spoke to our parents and 3 days later, he say he dont know what is he thinking and wants to call it off again.

I have been so patient and been supporting with what he got to say. but this time round, i just dono what to do.

He is so confuse and have all kinds of reason. I dono what he wants. Does he need attention? Do i want to get married to someone who cant keep promises and handle a responsibility?

What do i do?

Salaam,

Salaam,

Your worry for the constant non-fulfillment of promises is worrying. Naturally the act ,if recurring, does invoke explanation and reasoning.

However, you should try to rediscover the reasons he has in the past, and reflect how valid and understandable it is. Sometimes, we get confused, or felt cheated in worst cases. I hope sister, you would clarify this issue in full terms with the other person.

Hope you would pray for Allah s.w.t on His guidance and forgiveness. Salaam.
