Sex the first time and contraception
Assalamualaikum,
I'm not married but I'll try to answer your questions the best I could, inshaAllah.
As for the first 3 questions, it's personal and I don't think it is right to ask such question. Also, it depends on the individual.
Now, to the 4th question. On ghusl, I'm not able to find the exact answer to you qns. But here it is:
"There is no set time limit within which a woman who is junub has to do ghusl. It has to do with the performance of prayers and other acts of worship where tahaarah (purity) is required. There is no harm in delaying ghusl until the time for the next prayer comes, so long as the prayer before it has been performed in a state of tahaarah. But it is recommended for the Muslim to hasten to do ghusl so that he will always be in a state of tahaarah, as is the Sunnah, and because the angels do not come near a person who is junub."

The 5th question, I'm not so sure.
_____________
Lastly (6th qn), the answer I got is the permissibility of contraception:
"Contraception is permitted under the following conditions:
1. Mutual agreement of both husband and wife.
2. It does not cause harm.
3. It is not be practiced on a permanent basis, but rather for a temporary period (such as two years until the breastfeeding of the current baby is completed, for example)."

I up constant_searching's explanation. www.islamqa.com gives a lot of good advices and answers.
PS: constant_searching.... I see you're a salaf?
"killerplush",
I wouldn't label myself. But if you meant following the salafi, which meant following the Qur'an and authentic sayings of the Prophet [peace be upon him] as these two sources were understood by the Companions.. Then yes, I'm trying my best to follow, inshaAllah.
Salaam.
That is good to hear constant_searching. May Allah guide you and the rest of us through the rightly guided path of our prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions. Insyaallah. Jazakallahu Khair
Salaam.

Hi im getting married soon.
i'll like to get some advise and useful tips on having sex the first time and also contraception methods( birth control).
Here are my list of question.(sorry its abit long)
There have been so little mention of sex education between the muslim ummah ( i mean a proper open discussion about this) and hence i'll need to know a lot of these information from all of you who have been through it.
What should i expect the first time? Does it hurt for both me and my future spouse?
what are the ways to avoid the awkwardness (we've havent been intimate before)?
When should we do it?
What about Ghusl? What if i miss showering and its time for Fajar?
What kind of contraception are Muslim people using these days?
What are the pros and cons?
Answer to one or more of the above question would be very nice. w'salaam thanks :)
