Hi, I'm thinking of DIY-ing my wedding. Or at least some parts of it. Anyone knows what I should and should not DIY? e.g. dais DIY no-no, ceiling deco can DIY, etc. planning to keep the wedding small (about 200 pax). a wedding doesn't have to cost a bomb to be presentable, no? :)
Great if fellow DIY-ers could share their cost saving experiences/ideas (and contacts!) if any.

What you can DIY in my opinion is:
*making your own cards,
*get your own tents, chairs from supliers
*get relatives to cook for you
*Borrow someone's car as transport
*Decorating the tables and chair
*Get fresh flowers from the market and make a center piece for each table. They don;t have to be complicated arrangement. Sometimes, the simplest are the most beautiful.
*Design your own clothes and get it tailored or buy ready made ones.
Buy your own shoes accessories
* Do your own make up
Out of the above i've only managed to
Design my own clothes
Make cards
Get own tents from suppliers
Buy own shoes and accessories
Almost did my own make up. i wish i had done it myself. i would have done a much better job. :)

DIY wedding is a great idea:
1. usually cheaper
2. much more fun to plan
3. u get lots of compliments from the guests : )
4. the wedding has your personal touch and unique ideas.
in order for it to work, you must have support from your family and friends. on the big day, someone else (not you!!!) has to be in charge incase something goes wrong.
