The only book which have caught my mind and imagination is memoirs of the geisha. i read it abt 8-9 yrs back.

It was the only book which managed to make me miss the bus stop to get down to school although i hadly had any sleep the night before..(coz i was reading the book)

The only book which made me forget to eat and sleep. The only book tht i finished reading within 3 days. Well that's my track record for reading a book. i'm not a fast reader and was impressed that i could finish a book within 3 days. :)

Another amazing book i read was Amina Whudud, Quran and women. Although that i needed to re read it again and again to understand. its still a refreshing read, if i were to read it again now. i know people would personally 'kill' me for reading such a thing. but That woman is something else. I'm inspired for a Muslim woman to take such a stand despite what everyone says. :)

The next best book ive read was Dr Phil, Relationship rescue.
Not sure if tht kinda book falls under this question. heh.
I felt that he was talking to me in the book which was pretty amazing considering for a 'self-help' book.

mind blowing. ;)

well in terms of fiction.. it'd have to be "The Inheritance of Loss" by Kiran Desai.

It was so intense and heartbreaking that it made me cry. and i can't remember the last time a fiction novel ever had that effect on me...

it vividly describes the world we live in today... to such detail it's amazing.

just finished "Veronika Descides to Die" Paulo Coelho.
makes lots of sense. it seems to be book playing on a depressing subjetc (suicide, no will to live) but... eh. no cannot say. spoiler...

lets say its a book that make u appreciate life better.

I would say Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen..I am sure many have heard of her and its funny how I spent my 19 years living in this world, not realising that such well known author has written such sweet books. Its really a very nice book so much so that I even sacrificed not revising just to know what will happen to the character in the end. It is the kind of love story that not everyone thinks of because this love is an extraordinary one..You just have to read it to love it...But I guess I'm the only person in the world to have just finished reading this book.. Yet, I'm recommending this to the young readers in this web.. :)
