Q. Why do 'Mats' love their bike?

its a sign of an alpha male, Malay male masculinity. "mat moto" (malay male biker)

Just like why females fuss so much about apperance. then again more and more males are turning like that.

anyway . everybody has their own obsession

because without a bike (or scooter), a mat is not a true mat.

Well, at first, their reason would be;

"Its easier to get around. A motorcycle is better then a car because its nor affected by most traffic jams."

This is truly a respectable reason. However, as months pass and after mixing around with the wrong crowd, the owner begins to discover the dark and dangerous world of the Motorcycle. His views would change altogether and most probably end up with a Motorcycle Gang.

firstly, i don't understand why is a 'Mat' being socialised with bike. why can't a 'Mat' be socialised with car, bicycle, skateboard or etc other than bike? someone's got to change this perception of a 'Mat'. seriously... period!

anyways, coming back to the question. i have to agree with thingi. it's a male biker masculinity. i don't get it myself. but i also think it's probably about ownership. like how one expect to be judge by the size of their transport, which is for this case their bike...
