well 'sayang' means love..at least when its said that way.
however sometimes some guys are just trying to be cheeky and friendly, even shopkeepers says that. so it greatly depends where you are and in what situation you are in.

Malay for “love”, it is used in most Singlish contexts in the same way as “what a pity”.
“I see them throw away so much food, I always feel damn sayang like that.”

sayang doesnt always means love from yr special sumone.. it can also mean the closeness between long term friendship. judge everyone with yr heart. see from the eyes of instinct, and i ensure u that u can see thru the real meaning of "sayang" from anyone who called u by that name...

Someoene call me sayang whenever I am blur or unintentially make the wrong choice..but I don't take it as love..It all depends on the situation really
