Why aren't you happy ?
Well Mehboob, you words kinda reminds me when I'm younger. I'm like more to the wordly life, friends and love, earning money, entertainment. I am a practising muslim in general but my strength in faith is so-called not reaally there, more like practising to 'book' a place in heaven . There's happiness, but like it comes and goes. You keep trying to please and hold this happiness as long as you can everyday. Well that's the happiness the human's perceive today through music, lifestyle and culture. Not religion , as far as many human these days does in life..
I'm lucky, praise to God, that I'm able to appreciate Islam about almost two years ago. Reading the meaning of Islam, really calms the my soul when I'm demoralized or empty in life, I realized that it's the meaning of the Quran, not the arabic recitations or nice calligraphy, that makes the Quran the furqan(criterion of good and bad) and the kitab (the book). All the religions taught/emphasize the same thing, seeking spiritual happiness and contenment, finalizing in the happiness called peace. Notice how this peace (salaam) relate strongly to Islam and other semitic faiths (e.g. Judaism and Christianity :) ?
I am happy that you found peace.... yet many are still on that same path that we were all in.... Alhamdulilah

Do you need external factors to make you happy ? Happiness comes from within you. It is a state of yourself. No one can make you unhappy ... Only you can feel unhappy. Tell yourself you want to spend the rest of your life being Happy & making others happy. Ameen.
