I saw a Tudung lady kissing a man in the park openly. This is becoming the story of our Muslims around the world. What do you think is happening to the Muslims ?

Hard to say, well first things first..what amount/kind of knowledge are the muslims imparted from their parents, or ustaz, or teachers, or peers, or friends, or media ?
This problem is not just the problem of muslims, but almost other race and religion are facing the issue as well. Even I , back a few years ago, are probably like many typical malay muslims people see then; muslim by name, muslim by birth, and muslim by attending rigorous religious class on weekends, and practising muslim fundamentals and pillars . Yet at that same time, I honestly and hardly know much meaning and context of each verse, the Quran, the significance of sunna and the variations of madhab, or even the why being muslim and not other religion. A muslim is not one who grows up LIKE one, by discovering one's self to the existence of The Creator, His creation and our responsibity living in earth, and purpose of life and death.
Younger generations are more open-minded, direct and factual in discussion, and very much out-going and outspoken compared to older generation. The concept of da'wa and preaching cannot be the same as they used it decades or hundred(s) years ago. There is a need to implement innovative and creativity multimedia or mode of presentation of Islam among the young and future generation, be it audio or visual. Technology and social communication is the key elements, while influence and trend are the supplementary , and lastly the religion, which is the foundation of preaching and message for success. I find this a common techniques observed in Christian evangelism everywhere, which is why they are gaining more pace in converts and their preaching within their community compared to us muslims. Muslims, on the other hand, are generally slow and many times lacking, as we are getting slower to keep the pace on the technology and the young.
Maybe I am wrong, then again as as Mehboob says "what's becoming the story of our Muslims today?"
Have you given a thought that maybe those 2 might be married?
Yes no doubt that there are many Muslims who do not necessarily uphold the virtues of Islam as it should but do not just simply label them.
I wear the hijab.I look younger than my age.I go out with my husband and we do give pecks and hold hands.
So according to the society,I cannot do this just because I wear the hijab?
Let us throw away our ignorance and our narrow mindset and our prejudices and stereotypes and let us talk about what we can do as MUSLIMS to improve this world.
well, wearing tudung n kissing in public... (park)
i hope those 2 were married couple.
Me married . I and my hubby hold hands and also give pecks when we are out. but ofcourse there is a way n limit to do tat even one is married.
but.. but when comes to non married couples(muslims) we have to make sure how we behave in public. , to avoid FITNAH.
Salam,
I always feel that kissing is so precious and personal that it should be private and not displayed to the public (well, it shouldn't matter if it is done within the family bcos it is not fitnah anymore). It is only a personal opinion of course. But as for holding hands (after marriage, of course, it should be ok. Which is why, couples (of course in my eyes) could wear rings so it might help avoid fitnah...Anyway, I hope I haven't offended anyone.
As for the earlier comments on faith...well, I agree that education has always been thought provoking which is why muslims and muslimahs should embrace getting to know about their religion and understanding them as a part of themselves and not just by name and birth.
It is interesting that muslims in earlier days do not have to use such IT savvy methods to fully understand the concept. Perhaps, it is because they had to learn through the trials and hardship of life that what was preached to them gave concrete meaning and understanding...different from our current culture in Singapore which is lazying to a comfort zone. I actually agree that these methods are used (to attract the new generation because it is what they are a part of and what they relate to).
Just food for my own thought...:D
