Is it permissible for a single lady to be a pillion rider with her boyfriend when she is not engaged to him yet. Why are parents allowing this to happen even though they are practicing Muslims. Please help to stop this practice.

They are not supposed to do that, even after they are engaged.
This is one of the things that some practicing Muslims parents condone.
Some of them allow their children to wear sexy clothing.
Think it's acceptabe within our muslim society to do such thing even if they knw it's not allowed in islam.
perhaps parents needed to be reminded of the hell fire when they do not re inforce islamic parctices within their family.
Maybe u can define what are practising muslims?
Seriously im not sure about the practising or non practising anymore...

Yes, I agree with you. Single or engage. Just to share, i do not agree to the idea of a lady being a pillion rider to a guy, be it they are engaged or in a BGR.
Unless they are married or mahram(family relation).
What if the guy becomes the pillion? Oh gosh!(joking...joking..haha)
Although some people may argue,
"Im sending my 'tunang' home whut!",
but im sure there are better ways to send her home, like taking a taxi(where there is the 3rd person: Taxi Driver) or take the MRT( where there are more than the 3rd person involved)
The thing about a guy and a girl on a motorbike together, is the contact they have.
I forgot the exact lines of the Quran(insyaAllah I will get refer to this post again), but it quote about "..and don't you come anywhere near zina.."
The part to be emphasized here is "come anywhere near", so Allah swt warned against coming anywhere near to zina.
And there is a hadith which says, "Between a man and a woman, the third person would be shaitan"
So i post this question to the readers, if you're together on the bike, are'nt you like the MOST NEAREST to committing zina?what's the chances?tepuk dada, tanya iman. =D
So if both of you wanna get on a bike together, wait till youre married. Rather than spending your money on petrol to send your "girlfriend" back. Why not save the petrol money for your wedding!not only you're thinking about your future, but you're helping to reduce global warming with lesser trips.

Zina = Adultery/Fornication/Doing sex unlawfully.(and no, this is not Xena the Princess Warrior)
