I find that it's difficult to understand your question. :S
Wht do u mean by settle? you mean work? have a job?

Where is the Quran issue in this question. Im finding it really hard to give any opinion.

Can you explain your question again? Maybe ask someone who can speak your language to type out the question for you? coz i think that other member might be struggling to understand this question as well.

Hi Ali,

Sultana is correct, Ali. I'm happy that you are willing to share the issue you with us. But Ali, the question you pose seems a bit illegible to me.

We wanted to reply but I hope you understand the situation Sultana and me are having when you post the question. :) I wrote some points below; please confirm or correct me if I'm wrong.

1) The muslim boy made a promise to a girl's family that he will marry the girl. So he made a promise to the family by using an oath the Quran?
2) But the guy needs to settle down his career and his priorities first, because he's not yet ready to make his choice first. However, the lady feels insecure and doubtful about his reason, hence the misunderstnading.
3) However the guy promises that he will not marry other girl while he's not ready.But he's unsure or worried about his promises also, coz he's made a promise by an oath to the Quran, a serious oath.

So your question is regarding the problem if the oath is broken? How serious is such issue and how Islam treats to rules regarding breaking or making an oath?

Hi Ali786,

In my opinion, I think swearing oath in Quran, like you feel, is heavy issue and importance. The fact you swear in the name of God itself is a huge issue, with a Quran it's even more drastic.

I feel that people took easy on the Quran and oath so easily, Unless you accused in a capital crime or accusations, the oath on Quran in neccesary. This is to give hope and faith and guidance from God, especially when someone innocent is charged with a capital crime/charge he never commit. Other than that, I feel in my opinion, it's only used for some own self emotional purposes or intention. God is not a partisan for a muslim, but a source a blessing, hope and strength for it's believers and people who believed in Him.

Hope this clears some misconception regarding oath from Quran. When time permits, I will try to quote from the hadith or Quran to strengthen my opinion, insha-Allah (or God's Will). Bless you Salaam.
