Rape in Saudi Arabia

As you are aware of, the recent rape case in Saudi Arabia causes great debate among mostly western political and jurnalistic space.

I personally do not support the juedgement and judicial process of Saudi Arabia about this particular case. Indeed, it caused minor disturbance to peace of my mind.

Do you have any opinion or explanation about this?

Hmm...like they say when 'east meets west' there's always something to talk about right?haha...:)

Unfortunately, sooo far i'm only getting the western par view on this matter based on majority of the media ( a common thingy). One of the most famous reviews from the west is a common but irritating phrase that "..Women are most often the victims of the most oppressive interpretations of Islam..." . (thewip.net)

Well to be honest, this has become a problem even in the west and also in the east. I would just give a snort if a westerner or easterner would boast and say "..in our country, the women had more rights blah blah". With high increasing number of rape and molester cases in society today on women, including abortion, divorce rates, I mean honestly, are women being given a honest and fair judgement, protection and security these days <sigh>?. I feel that women seems to be commonly taken advantage of in every society, and not much of an advantage in reality and in practice. There are also good men and people who will protect the rights of women, whether in the east, west or even Saudi Arabia, but often this news often go unsound or unheard of in media, except once in while or two :(

Protection and rights of women is a responsibility of not only men, but also the community as a whole. Reading the Quran like chapter 4:34, 129,9:71,24:30-31 and you will notice the emphasis of men's responsibility for the welfare, fairness and equal rights of women, before a women 's responsibility for themselves. To charge a women unfairly leads to horrrible circumstances like in the Quran verse below,

"Those who slander chaste women, indiscreet but believing, are cursed in this life and in the Hereafter: for them is a grievous Penalty,-"
[Al-Qur'an, 024.023 (An-Noor [The Light])

So I cannot simply conclude based on the "news", on whose point of view from the media is trustworthy. The information may be updated or so- called correct, or maybe lacking in details, so as a muslim we should pray that the innocent be guided and evil go unprevailed.Allah knows everthing best, for he says in the Quran,"... For He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden".(Al-Qur'an, 87.7). But I feel that westerner should look their women issues first in their country before other asian or eastern countries, cause theirs is a whole bigger problem of it's own.

My last note to everyone, "Do not simlpy, carelessly or selfishly point your finger(s) to just anyone on any cause, because maybe these very people are laughing at your own cause/examples at the same time..." :)

Yes..I agree. My studies in history at secondary school taught me about the realiability of the sources and who said it. I do not know if the news is realiable or not. But if i find that is true.I will be very very angry..because the rape victim is never at fault. If it is untrue I will be angry at those who spread false news.

At the end of it all... for things where we do not have control, we leave it in the hands of Allah. There is a reason as to why things happen... if only we knew. Allah knows best.... Walahualam.
