Q. Non-alcoholic beer

Saalam to all

I'm currently a Science student and one of my lesson is about beer. Actually, its mainly about improving the taste of the beer. My facilitator even brought empty bottles of beers to class, asked us to take a look at the ingredients and also tasted a non-alcoholic beer. Of course, I won't taste it because I still don't know much about it even though my facilitator said that the beer is non-alcoholic.

Any comments or opinions about this..?

I am sure if you explain to your professor about your beliefs and hence the need to keep away from beer, it would be better. It is highly recommended that we keep away from this haram stuff.... not even get close to it...let alone doing something to improve it etc. etc. May Allah s.w.t. give you the courage to speak to your professor.

Non alcoholic beer is non alcoholic which technically makes it halal. But if possible it is better to keep away even though its non alcoholic. So don't drink it at your own leisure since its still imitating the kufaar which is a sin in itself. Khair inshAllah. as it was for class inshAllah there is no sin on you.

The thing about non-alcoholic beer or wine is that most of them actually do have a very small percentage of alcohol. These are actually meant for those who can't hold their alcohol. They have less than 1% of alcohol and is written in very fine print on the label. Eventhough it is a small percentage, it is still Haram and just to be sure should be refrained.
