Should one be a Ustaz before he can convey a message. Recently a convert brother was sharing his trials and tribulations before before being asked to refrain from such activities. His reason was that he does not really understand the religion well enough to actually share such experiences and linking them to Islam. Is this what a Muslim should do to a Convert ?

Assalam Alaikum,
I guess being a revert is a precious gift from Allah (SWT)~
If no reverts are to share their experiences, then how are we ever going to invite people into the religion?
Being a revert myself, I'm more convinced by stories tell by reverts~ Of course, to share their own personal stories, they have to make it clear that whatever they understood might not be 100% correct... But that is the perspective of the individual and how he/she is guided into Islam~
Btw, what is ustaz? I tried to google it but it doesn't tell me the meaning~ Is it in arabic or malay? Whatever word it is, I assume that it's someone of a higher authority...
I feel that the revert should not be refrain from sharing his/her own experiences~ Not everyone can be a scholar to share the real knowledge.. If we are really to study the whole religion and know 100% what we know, then the spreading of Islam will be very very very slow....
But anyone can be someone to share their experiences~ On the basis that they are to inform people what they share is to their limited knowledge and the real knowledge will have to be found out by one individual~
I hope I speak on the behalf of a revert... =D
W'salam,

Salam..
Unfortunate story...
we should convey the knowledge to others, even if it is one word..
if he has his evidences correct based from quran and sunnah, then why not?
he is telling us to the good - there is nothing wrong with it...
to convey a message is not only to outsiders, but to our loved ones also. Does that mean that we as husbands must also be an ustaz ( then can convey the message... ) ?
