Should school children be asked by their teachers to come back during school holidays, for extra classes etc ?
Should we allow our children to go to school during school holidays ?
heheh it's a funny question.
Can i say No? I hate going back to school during my holidays! such a drag. I can understand how our kids will feel. Life and success is not all about what they learn in their textbook at school.
On the other hand i know how Kiasu we singapore people are. I'm sure we don't want our kids to miss out on their education.
I think if it gets to the point that they need to go to school almost everyday..i'll draw a line and say...hey, the kids needs a break. too much stress is not healthy for our mental health and general well being. What will they really loose out on if they don't go to school? umm..brain cells?
I think its okay if the kids need to come back to school but maybe try to limit to about two or three days a week. education is definitely important for them.
it might be stress for some of them if they need to come back everyday. if like that, what for they called it school holidays right? haha.
These days I find learning a chore. I once taught tuition in a school and I dont see why the school made them stay back week after week. Furthermore the kids are already smart.
And some were made to come back during Holidays.
Come on take the week off and have a break. The kid too need a life.
