How should a parent treat an academically non performing child at school ?

Treat nicely and in a just manner. I probably think that there may be a underlying reason why the child is not performing in school.

More importantly is to be there for them as a friend in need, always encourage them, and never give up on them. =)

Children have different learning capabilities. Some would benefit from, one to one tuition, others would benefit from Classroom tuition settings or group tuition. Know what the child wants, and what his interests are. Non academically performing child may have other reasons too. Family problems, peer pressure. You must understand the child before judging him.LISTEN to the child and observe his behaviour.
