Choice of Islamic books in Singapore
Hi shad4man,
thanks.actuali went there last tuesday. Although there are only two three shelves for islamic books (2 for English and 1 for malay), the book qualities are suprisingly good (since maybe the 4th level store is recently opened).
Bought the book called the Quranic Science (Ulum Al Quran) by Taqi Usmani. Quite a good book.
Just wish there were a good bookstore selling English islamic books. <sigh>. Or maybe probably not many people read english islamic books, so the demand is low :(
there's a shop in Johor bahru that sell english islamic books. it is located at Plaza Angsana, and the name of the shop is Badan Cemerlang. hope this will help.
Salam,
Thanks for the tips, Rookie. I just called Badan Cemerlang (+6 07-2360267), they have some of the books I am looking for:
- The road to Mecca: by Muhammad Assad
- The message of Quran by Muhammad Assad
Am still looking a local (Spore or JB) for The purification of the ehart - by Syeikh Hamza Yusuf. Anyone has a clue?
thank you,

I can"t help noticing that there are limited english books in many english islamic store.I find this as an disadvantage, as Islam is one of the three religion that has the large adherents of faith in Singapore besides Christianity and Busshism.
I wonder if any of the islamic bookshops in singapore (e.g. Wardah Bookstore, Muslimedia publishr, or english islamic bookshop at onan road, offers the customers the serivce for ordering of books not sold in their in the bookshop but found overseas ? Ordering from the net is not cheap (the shipping costs esp), plus the delay in processing and time is not pleasent :(
Any opinions from anyone ?
