Almost there .... need to include wedding car, deco for the car, wedding gowns, your suits, photographer, video grapher, wedding cake, guest book. I recommend setting aside another $3k-$5k.

For my wedding, most of my best friends chipped in. One of them sponsored the car as my wedding gift, the other sponsored the photography, another the gowns & suits & I am blessed to have such great friends. You too should not rule out this possibility. Just ask your friends if they would like to chip in for some of these items as your wedding gift from them. The rest leave it to Allah.

Mehboob, that's an awesome idea...what about anyone here? Anyone wants to sponsor anything for khai?

Well here's my breakdown:

-Venue (mine was free it was in my house)
-Food and helpers to serve
-wedding cake (optional..don't go to restaurant and ask for wedding cakes coz they will quote u a more expensive price)
-deco and pelamin
-transportation
-wedding invitation cards
-music or Dj (just pluck in your laptop and speakers if u need music ) No one really cared abt the music..infract it can be quite annoying if u need to talk.
-Wedding dress and accessories
-andaman or a make up artist
-henna
-photographer or videographer
-gifts to guests (berkat)
-hantaran gifts (if u are doing so)

Wow! ur cost is heaps. I still don't get it. why do we spend so much for weddings?? you know i tried to save as much money i can for my wedding coz i find that all these wedding planner are making too much money out of us with their marked up prices. My intension for my wedding was to gather the closest people to me to catch up.

I illumined the things that i don’t need, like i definitely don’t need 1000 or more guest. And the pelamin was such a rip off! flowers and decor...buy cloth and wrap things up. and flowers......totally cheaper if u buy it yourself and make simple arrangements. You can find deco idea online! there's thousands of them and how to save money for your wedding day. You can tailor ur own wedding dress..it will come out much cheaper.

Get ur friends and family to help out. They will be more then happy to do parts of the wedding preparation. Tell them what you need and delegate your job. If u have fear or have reservation in doing so..tell them..Doesn’t hurt to do that. More help means..u can be less stressful for ur day.

Remember the good old days where the community sticks by together when it comes to functions and wedding and everyone will contribute something. Like someone will cook, the other help with decor..etc..

i guess its for 1000 paxes, isnt it? Actuali, u should keep survey till u get a better offer on wic i did :-) for catering, y dun u try pu3 catering? it worth your money.. go check out the webbie!.. for groom normally u gotta focus on Catering, Dj, Kompang + transport & hantarans for the exchange gifts. For example, dj svcs u can get for like $350. Kompang $280. Dont forget, u still haf to get the hantaran notes ready ya... go multiply.com, there r lots of info with regards of wedding svcs! dear khai,

1) venue - 2k. (including deco time, cooking at an adjacent void deck, etc)
different cc has got different rates, which cc are you interested in?

2) deco - 3k
depending on your requested themed-setup.

3) Makan - 7k
depends on how many course of food and how many guests?

4) Entertainment - 1k (DJ n kompang)

Works out to be ard 13k. Are my calculations correct?
