I would like to do a simple akad nikah ceremony but would love to invite just my close friends and relative for kenduri.
Ist worth if I make a small sanding or just a kenduri at home?

Hmm... Ceremonies like a simple akad nikah... If you want to make it more memorable. Why not book a chalet, like those at SAFRA changi, something like that a stand alone building. More room for small gathering to get comfy. Yes the problem would be bring stuff to and fro.
Still it's personal, must count the cost of the value and significance.
Better to save it all up for the big event, and just do the symbolic significance of akad nikah? Choice is all yours, personally it is who you both as a couple think of it.

A simple wedding is a more appropiate word in Islam. The main reason was to announce the wedding formally along with family and friends, to avoid suspicion and speculation of human intentions.
I do not ever think the lavish wedding ever sounds logical. In Singapore, there are housing matters ( a more important family aspects) and financial matters (children) to look forward too. Let us not live and kill-joy while forgetting to look towards a challenging and better tomorrow, insha-allah

Usually for young couple nowadays, they would prefer to have a simple solemnization ceremony at home or ROMM but usually its the family that wants to have a wedding reception. The best way to me is to have the solemnization at home follow by a Doa Selamat and simple lunch at your house. If you want to have a Persandingan, a simple Dais at home will do just nice for your family members and close friends to see you as RAJA SEHARI.

I would prefer if you do it at home as it would much more pleasent to your family members..
But if you want your reception to be grand but yet memorable, why dun u try out hotel at HOLIDAY INN ATRIUM, near outram. its quite cheap and affordable, moreover you get to have a bridal room n catering there n i tink u would love it. At most you got to spend less than 4k-5k for catering, makeup artise, photographer n Bridal suite....
