Don't get me wrong but just curious to know more if malays only do weddings at CC and void decks only and not in hotels?

I have attended Malay wedding at a hotel only once.
I think cost is the main reason for not doing it at hotels.
Besides, you can invite more people, if you do it at void decks, without worrying so much about the cost.
Personally I think it would be a waste of money.
Holding a wedding can be an option for Malays but with the consideration of the long guest list, it is not adviseable to do so. Chinese usually invite around 300 pax to their wedding.. but Malays are around 1000pax.. So if the parents of the bride and groom don't mind having a smaller guest list, it should be alright to hold it in a hotel.
One of my cousin did his wedding at Garuda (at Orchard area) last year. My other cousin held it at the Airport Hotel (Terminal 3) this year. He had to the CC Wedding on the sat and the Hotel wedding on sun. Can't imagine the cost though..
agreed with the ans above.
As for me wedding at the vdeck is much more cheaper then doing it at CC or Hotel.
Depends on individual. As for malays they do have many relatives to invite and CC is more convinient for them as it Big and spaces but the cost wil be slightly more then the vdeck. Unlike Hotels, u Know its reli Xpensive.
Recently i have a fren of did his wedding event at Suntec Convection of 500pax which inlcuded everyting is wedding package for $18k. Do you think is it worth?
It all brings down to the amount of people attending.
It's impossible to fit, let's say 1500 people in a hotel ballroom.
And also the budget of holding the wedding at a hotel is way much lesser than other venues.
And weddings' venues are not only restricted to hotels, CC and void decks. Some may also have them at HortPark (near the Southern Ridges), Zoo, Sentosa (:
